Can Mother Nature guarantee we will absorb 100 percent of the vitamins in our food? When we age, can we expect that absorption to remain constant? According to Prof. Stewart, vitamins represent one of the central pathways to healthier longevity. Stress-Free Degrees : Stephen Morris - Consider the Icicle
Saturday May 31
4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Icicles are harmless and picturesque winter phenomena, familiar to anyone who lives in a cold climate. The shape of an icicle emerges from a subtle feedback between ice formation, which is controlled by the release of heat, and the flow of water over the evolving shape. Prof. Morris’ team built a laboratory icicle growing machine to explore icicle physics. He will share what they learned about making a platonic icicle and the surprising origin of the ripples. Free
